Greenville Metals is a unique metallurgical resource with the ability to partner strategically with customers. We provide technology-based solutions and services to companies around the globe which require air melt grade master alloys and conversion products. Greenville Metals produces metallurgical products using many techniques including electric arc furnace, AOD, induction furnaces, and various crushing, grinding, and sizing equipment. We use nickel, cobalt, and iron-based (particularly stainless steel) alloys to produce products such as ingots, pigs, shot, and powder.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the ongoing analysis of standard costs, costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. This position must also construct and monitor those cost-effective analyses and reports to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.
  • Planning, studying, and collecting value-add data to determine costs of business activity.
  • Manage annual standards review and implementation.
  • Manage cost productivity pipelines.
  • Manage or assist with special finance projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and Sox guidelines.
  • Analyzing cost data collected and recording results for US and UK entities.
  • Analyzing changes in manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
  • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing daily reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Prepare estimates for new and proposed product costs.
  • Providing management with various cost reports utilized to drive business decisions.
  • Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
  • Assists with physical inventories and cycle count programs.
  • Assists with inventory analysis and reporting.
  • A key member of SAP implementation team, with additional emphasis and ultimate ownership of the manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a cost accounting or related role, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with multi-site accounting environment preferred.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • High level of self-motivation, takes the initiative to perform and succeed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and complete projects.
  • Able to work outside normal office hours as business requires.
  • Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Ethics and SOX guidelines.
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision and use own initiative.
  • Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS).
  • Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and access skills.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
