PCC Airfoils, LLC, headquartered in Greater Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the fast-paced, high-tech industry of investment casting.  Each of the thirteen (13) Airfoils’ locations plays an integral part in the manufacture of blades, vanes and components for use in gas turbine engines.  PCC’s parts are found on virtually all commercial & military aircraft, as well as, industrial gas turbine applications in the free world.

The Douglas facility is located in south central Georgia approximately 65 miles north of the Florida state line.  Douglas is centrally located between Macon, GA and Jacksonville, FL; approximately two hours drive from either city.  Valdosta, GA is about one hour’s drive away.  Golf, tennis, fishing and hunting are popular outdoor activities.

Position Summary:

The Programmer analyzes existing systems in cooperation with plant and corporate management for the purpose of increasing efficiency, timeliness, and value of report information and to reduce overall operating expense. This includes developing, implementing, and instructing users, with new approved systems with minimum disruption to present operations.

Essential Functions:

· Investigate, design, implement, and document efficient systems that provide business information quickly and clearly.

· Instruct and aid system users in the area of input, maintaining controls and utilizing system output effectively.

· Suggest and recommend methods and procedures for realizing desired system results and reducing overall operational expense.

· Analyze and design systems once a clear understanding of the user need have been determined and implement in conjunction with the requirements of other systems.

· Develop, test, and maintain reports for manufacturing transaction system software according to specifications provided by business functions.

· Perform maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration as needed on SQL server processes related to manufacturing transaction system software and reports.

· Programming must result in effective use of data processing equipment.

· Maintains basic knowledge of hardware and networks to provide support where needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field. MS degree is highly desirable.

· Five years of experience programming with at least one year in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience with Visual Studio using primarily C#. Working knowledge of object oriented programming methodology.

· Experience with T-SQL and working knowledge of .NET frameworks.

· Network and/or server knowledge a plus.

Essential Functions:                                                   

·         Provide business analysis and moderate technical support for process control, ERP, data collection systems, and miscellaneous applications developed and maintained by IT.

·         Research output requirements and business transactions to identify source data, processing logic, data security needs, system controls, and interfaces related to planning, program specifications, and system operation.

·         Apply broad working knowledge of system standards, technologies, and methodologies to the definition and implementation of business systems or functions.

·         Direct subsystem activities including consulting, design review, status reporting, implementation reviews and acceptance of results.

·         Document implemented systems to include a reference manual for the system and business practices/procedures.

·         Contribute to the applications development standards and procedures at the department and division level.

·         Provide for the appropriate levels of training for system users including shop floor support as needed.

·         Define issues, develops alternatives, determine impacts, and makes recommendations.

·         Determine program specifications or processes to achieve stated requirements.

·         Test programs or system processes for adherence to stated requirements.

·         Develop project plans and manages development/support efforts.

·         Conduct post-implementation reviews and reports variances.

Experience & Education                                             

·         Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.  BS degree preferred.

·         APICS certification or specialized training or certifications related to manufacturing and engineering a plus.

·         Two years of experience working in IT operations with a firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.

·         Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Enterprise reporting tools, Visio, Microsoft Project, VB6, C#, T-SQL.
