Tool Technician - 2nd Shift

PCC Airfoils, LLC, headquartered in Greater Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the fast-paced, high-tech industry of investment casting.  Each of the thirteen (13) Airfoils’ locations plays an integral part in the manufacture of blades, vanes and components for use in gas turbine engines.  PCC’s parts are found on virtually all commercial & military aircraft, as well as, industrial gas turbine applications in the free world.

The Douglas facility is located in south central Georgia approximately 65 miles north of the Florida state line.  Douglas is centrally located between Macon, GA and Jacksonville, FL; approximately two hours drive from either city.  Valdosta, GA is about one hour’s drive away.  Golf, tennis, fishing and hunting are popular outdoor activities.

JOB FUNCTION:

Executes the assigned duties as necessary to support all tooling issues as required to resolve product or process problems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist engineer in day-to-day activities.  Included but not limited to:

Ø  Program planning and scheduling.

Ø  Special lot generation, tracking, and documentation.

Ø  Development of parts procedures (PESs) and routings.

Ø  Provide technical support for Quality and Manufacturing.

Ø  Coordinate the maintenance , cleaning and inventory control for all tooling in the facility.

Ø  Learn the fundamentals of tooling, gating designing and efficiency, shell systems, foundry parameters, metallurgy, blueprint reading and interpretation, and statistical analysis.

Ø  Assist in the preparation of evaluations and reports to management and customers.

Ø  Assist in the cost reduction activities, and process improvements.

EDUCATION:

High school education required.  Prefer 2 years of technical education in an engineering-related field.

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years experience in engineering or technical environment.
