Location Profile:

Progressive was founded and incorporated in 1971 in Arlington, Texas. Heroux-Devtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee base. In August 2012, Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired Progressive. In January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI, Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC.

Predominantly, a provider for large, highly complex machined parts, kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140,000 square foot facility.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor has oversight responsibility for all Progressive Inc. facilities and machine maintenance efforts.  The position requires extensive experience in facilities maintenance and repair, and a hands-on background in electrical, hydraulics, welding, brazing, carpentry, foundation design, and construction methods. Position function requires the ability to effectively troubleshoot, analyze maintenance related issues, and implement appropriate/cost effective solutions to identified problems. This position coordinates all outside contracts pertaining to facilities and/or machine maintenance as well as new construction. It also requires effective interface with and supervision of outside contractor personnel. The incumbent is required to coordinate the negotiation and procurement of all spare parts and other facilities maintenance items. 

Reporting Relationships:

The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Director of Facilities, and will lead a small team of Maintenance personnel at the site. Must be proficient in good written and verbal communication.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand, demonstrate, and adhere to the company’s commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
  • Manage direct reports including their strengths and weaknesses and provide opportunities for training and cross-training in positions. Delegate, as necessary to direct reports to accomplish goals.
  • Reinforce and champion the idea and culture of continuous improvement and motivate the creation of ideas for pipeline improvement projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a maintenance plan and specific maintenance profiles for all CNC, conventional and profile milling machines.
  • Coordinate all facilities and/or machine repair activities and report all activities to the Facilities director.
  • Coordinate, direct, and supervise new facilities construction activities as required to ensure conformance to negotiated contract and quality of workmanship in the finished project.
  • Maintain and coordinate repairs as necessary to facility utilities.
  • Maintain repair parts and support equipment inventory and ensure adequate supply for all contingencies.
  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
  • May perform special projects or other duties, as assigned.

Required Experience: 

  • Must have 5 or more years’ experience with industrial manufacturing machinery.
  • Must have 2 or more years’ experience in manufacturing machinery maintenance; experience with large CNC mills preferred.
  • Must have 2 or more years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Basic understanding of the operation of CNC Machines, GE Fanuc Controls, and other shop machinery preferred.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry preferred. 

Level of Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, or related discipline is preferred. 

Physical Demands & Working Condition: 

  • May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
  • Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools.
  • Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
  • Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
