Wyman-Gordon: Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines.  Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

Location Profile:
Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries.  Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2” OD – 120” OD.

This position is designed to support 1st shift operations (M - F, 7am - 3:30pm, with overtime available when business needs arise).

Position Summary:
Level One Tool Crib Techs under direct supervision, are responsible for running tools to the shop floor, are familiar with tool logs, broken tool report logs, and insert logs. They will also demonstrate basic skills relating to inventory control, basic shop math including cutting tool geometry, and measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc., and validating tool specifications using a pre-setter based on correctly interpreting tool lists. Level one tool crib techs may be expected to calibrate pre-setters as necessary. In addition, they will also demonstrate basic computer skills and the ability to work with digital logs, tool lists and reports as needed. Typically, 0-1 years of experience.

Level Two Tool Crib Techs, with little supervision complete presetting operations, which requires a basic understanding of presetting procedures using specific presetting machines, and an intermediate knowledge of tool geometry and specifications which might include identifying tool numbers and gauge lengths. In addition to tool presetting competencies such as using heat shrink fit machines to set tool lengths to critical dimensions, they will demonstrate a basic understanding and ability to perform tool crib functions such as maintaining logs and inventories. Typically, 1-3 years of experience.

Level Three Tool Crib Techs, with no supervision, manage the tool crib inventories and processes as well as communicate with in house or out sourced tool grinding. Level three tool crib techs demonstrate an expert ability to tear down and set up all tool geometries as well as coordinate tool crib operations including inventory controls, ordering new cutting tools/manufacturing supply etc., and determine work priority for lower level techs. Will demonstrate ability to manage tooling database and inventory system, as well as provide leadership and assistance to lower level techs. Typically, 4-6 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
•    Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools fixtures and Jaws: Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using computer.
•    Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
•    Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
•    May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking
•    Keep track of tools and fixtures.
•    Quick learner; able to thrive in fast-paced environment
•    Must be dependable; consistent attendance/punctuality is required
•    Responsible for ensuring that cutting tool, fixtures and set up books are returned to crib for proper storage and that special tools are stored with appropriate tooling.
•    Responsible for making sure that all jobs received from are kitted in a timely manner and do not delay production jobs.
•    Inspect for worn tools and replace as necessary.
•    Responsible for the cleanliness of all hardware and ensuring that it is in “ready to use” condition.
•    Follow set-up sheets insuring that the proper cuttings are in inventory.
•    Develop and maintain a database of tooling/fixture storage locations.
•    Ensure tool crib functionality and performance meets company standards.
•    Maintain tool crib in clean, orderly manner
•    Required to pull/kit and preset jobs when necessary

Required Skills:
•    The ability to read and write in English
•    Must have ability to follow basic instructions, both written and verbal
•    Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations
•    Must be able to lift and/or maneuver objects up to 35 pounds
•    Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed 
    
Experience & Education:
•    High school graduate or equivalent is required
•    Experience with various cutting tools (e.g. lathe inserts, milling drills & taps, etc.) is required.
•    Prior experience in a manufacturing, aerospace or similar industry is preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $17.00 to $25.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 40 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
