ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Waste Water Operator is responsible for environmentally conscious and safe treatment of waste water and compliance with waste water discharge requirements. Provides timely and safe delivery of chemicals to the production areas. Perform all job functions with minimal supervision.
- Operates waste water treatment systems within the standards of all Federal, State and Local agencies.
- Performs storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Performs maintenance functions on treatment system components (pumps, mixers, probes, etc.)
- Performs waste water analysis.
- Performs tank and other system and equipment inspections.
- Loads, unloads and transfers chemicals, and maintains chemical warehouse.
- Maintains environmental checklists, logs, and other EHS records.
- Maintains part washers and oil stations in production areas.
- Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations. Reads all MSDS' and possesses thorough knowledge of all oil and chemical labeling and.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED, and certificate from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of Waste Water experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Language: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
- Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
- Analytical: Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
- Ability to read and interpret router instructions and specifications.
- Properly Knowledge of plating & water treatment chemical hazards.
- Perform inspections.
- Use calculator.
- Operate forklift.
- Basic computer skills (data entry).
- Use diagnostic equipment.
- Follow instructions.
