Position Summary:

Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) supports the Quality department in the goal of ensuring conformance of manufactured product and compliance to regulations/requirements. QAS is primarily responsible for the data, information, and communication within the Quality organization and between other departments. The QAS assists the Quality Management and Quality Engineering in collecting, analyzing, and reporting various data and information. The QAS is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, organization, and completeness of quality records, including but not limited to: inspection reports, calibration records, material test reports, certifications, customer/supplier documentation, various lists and logs, The QAS ensures that procedures are followed in compliance with specific industry standards (AS9100, Nadcap, etc.) and assists in revising the procedures as applicable.

Quality Management will directly delegate tasks, projects, and responsibilities to the QAS. The QAS is expected to handle a variety of assigned tasks that widely range in difficulty, duration, and criticality.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Product Acceptance: Evaluate customer requirements, prepare acceptable product package, and interface directly with customers for final verification and approval.
  • Contract Review: Reviews and ensures flow-down of contract requirements to the quality management system.
  • Supplier Quality: Assist the Supplier Quality Engineer in maintaining approved vendors list and processing supplier approvals and certifications.
  • Quality Audits: Support external audit preparation activities and conduct internal audits
  • Special Projects: Support and/or drive special projects and tasks as requested, e.g. implement process improvements, develop new logs, assist with specific corrective actions.

 Qualification and Requirements:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all organizational levels both written and oral (English)
  • Typing and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
  • Walking or standing for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality System in Aerospace manufacturing a plus
  • Experience working with customer source representatives is a plus
  • Typically 0-2 Years

 Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
