GENERAL SUMMARY:

Perform electrical activities engaged in construction, maintenance, and repair of electric power, lighting, and communication systems of plant buildings.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Perform installation of conduit, instruments, motors, controls, PLC, service equipment, and general understanding of the National Electric Code.  
  2. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders; read and draw schematics, one line diagrams.
  3. Analyze and resolve electrical problems and assist in solving electrical problems.
  4. Safely operate all equipment and tools. Adhere to safety rules and report safety problems.
  5. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  6. Sets up machines and equipment.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must possess minimum manufacturing plant electrical license.
  2. Ability troubleshooting, ac/de circuit, motors and motor controls, PLC’s and Instrumentation, and communication systems.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedural manuals.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  5. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  6. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram.
  7. Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent.  Minimum Manufacturing Plant electrical license, two years industrial experience preferred.   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be able to read work instructions.
  2. Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
  3. Must be able to stand, walk, reach, crouch, or crawl.
  4. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, and work in high places.
  5. Must be able to manually manipulate plant fixtures.
  6. Must be able to use hands to finger, grasp, and feel.

PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:

Ability to exert up to thirty-five pounds of force to move objects.  Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, high places, noise, dust, dangers associated with chem mill activities, and varying temperatures.
