Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines.  Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

 

Location Profile:

Located in South Gate, Dickson Testing Company, Inc. is a full-service destructive testing laboratory serving aerospace and metallic producers worldwide. Our laboratories serve our customers with metallurgical, mechanical, corrosion, and chemical testing services. In support of these services our facility provides complete specimen fabrication, cut off services and heat treat capability.                  

 

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Quality Specialist. This is an opportunity to grow your career at a large aerospace company.

The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The Quality Specialist’s responsibilities include reviewing test results and supporting documentation to validate pass/failure in accordance with Internal Quality / Test Procedures and Customer PO /Specification requirements.   A successful Quality Specialist has excellent troubleshooting skills and can ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

 

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.


*** During training, the work schedule is Mon - Fri 8am-4.30pm. Once training is complete, the work schedule will change to Tuesday - Saturday 6am-2.30pm. ***

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g. Quality and Safety).
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Review test results for compliance to Customer PO /Specification requirements.
  • Address quality inquiries and concerns from our customer and their representatives.
  • Participate on all 6s Programs
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Test and Certification personnel to ensure that no invalid test result is submitted to any customer.
  • Validating reported data conformance to customer and specification requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A degree from an accredited institution in quality, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Previous work experience in quality systems or laboratory testing highly preferred.
  • experience reading and interpreting aerospace specifications highly preferred.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry is preferred but not required.
  • ASQ certification preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experienced with Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $17.75 to $26.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
