Reviews, analyzes, and modifies business systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Position requires interaction with user community, Business Systems Analysts, DBAs, and other MIS staff. Progressive knowledge of current information technology and business requirement approaches must be maintained and demonstrated to recommend solutions consistent with company and departmental objectives.

 Duties:

Provide support for Process Control, ERP, data collection systems, data integration, and miscellaneous applications developed and maintained by MIS.

Applies broad working knowledge of system standards, technologies, and methodologies to the definition and implementation of business systems or functions.

Consults and interfaces with system users and MIS staff to define and document system objectives.

  • Codes and test programs or system processes using .net WPF, WCF, ASP.net, C#, for adherence to stated requirements.
  • Researches the output requirements and business transactions to identify source data, processing logic, data security needs, system controls, and interfaces related to planning, program specifications, and system operation.
  • Assists in documenting the implemented system to include a reference manual for the system and the required business practices/procedures.
  • Provides for the appropriate levels of training for system users.

Assists with development of project plans and management of development/support efforts including:

Subsystem activities for consulting, design review, status reporting, implementation reviews and acceptance of results.

  • Definition of issues, develops alternatives, determine impacts, and makes recommendations.
  • Preparation of project proposals.
  • Conducts post post-implementation reviews and reports variances.

Consults with MIS Management on strategic direction.

Contributes to the applications development standards and procedures at the department and division level.

Off-shift and weekend application and systems support.

Requirements:

Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and experience.

Development experience in a manufacturing solutions preferred.

Two years of experience in designing and developing business applications including manufacturing, finance, and data integration.

Limited project management skills in a manufacturing environment.

Proven independent problem-solving skills.

Background in the following environments or software:

- Hardware: Desktop PCs, Laptops, mobile devices

- Operating systems: Windows

- Databases: Oracle, MSFT SQL, PL/SQL

- Support Tools: MS Office, MS Outlook/Exchange, Ticketing systems

- Languages & Architecture: Visual Basic, MS .Net, C#, WPF, WCF, XML, ARAS AML, SaaS integration
