Position Summary:

Building upon Level 2, the Tool & Die Maker – Level 3 will work without supervision to setup and operate manual and CNC mills, grinders, lathes, EDMs, and polishing equipment to produce all required product types including complex tooling assemblies. Level 3 tooling machinists also demonstrate intermediate troubleshooting abilities and perform setups as well as mentor lower level employees. In addition to operations, basic NC programming may be required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Advanced mill setup (sweep mill head, 90 degree)
  • Advanced mill operation (boring in line holes, closed angles)
  • Perform fixture setup and operation
  • Drilling, tapping, counter sinking, boring, and milling operations
  • Perform lathe work (milling, reaming, boring, treading)
  • Identify cutting tool geometry and application
  • Perform intermediate rework operations
  • Perform part inspection/benching at the machine
  • Perform advanced complexity part layout
  • Perform basic troubleshooting as necessary
  • Observe all safety policies and procedures
  • Observe all company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to the Business Quality Management System (BQMS)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Shop math
  • Intermediate knowledge of thread/form roll tooling materials, configurations, and function, packages, punches and dies.
  • Basic NC Programming
  • Advanced print reading and GD&T
  • Advanced part inspection/benching
  • Intermediate knowledge of materials (aluminum, titanium, steel, etc.)
  • Intermediate troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to learn
  • Punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Machinist certificate preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19 to $45 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
