Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries.  Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2” OD – 100” OD.

Position Summary: 
The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality assurance and control support to customers, suppliers, and internal production; ensuring products, components, parts, and material conform to customer, supplier, and regulatory requirements. This position is a key liaison with internal staff, suppliers, and customers on Quality related matters.  This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 
•    Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g. Quality and Safety).
•    Ensure a safe, productive and rewarding working environment.
•    For all RFQs (request for quotes) and sales orders, review customer documentation and ensure manufacturing, technical and quality requirements are met and documented. Preemptively identify and communicate issues that can be resolved early, thus avoiding costly Inspection or Manufacturing options that delay processes.
•    Interpret customer requirements that may have hidden costs. (i.e., inspection, fixturing, tooling, special processing, etc.) 
•    Review or create order specific Inspection & Control Plans and other Quality documentation.
•    Address quality inquiries and concerns from our customer and their representatives
•    Participated on all 6s Programs 
•    Comply and enforce Cardinal Rules of Quality 
•    Provide quality customer interface to assure requirements are understood and satisfied. Host and participate with customer audits, work collaboratively with customers to identify quality gaps, assure corrective action resolution, and oversee continual improvement activities to meet or exceed customer expectations.
•    Perform and lead internal audit activity to identify process enhancements and ensure compliance with QMS. Responsible for ensuring RCAs are implemented for CARs and NCRs
•    Obtain AS13100 Supplier Self Released Certification 
•    Implementation of AS13100 Quality Management System – supplemental. 
•    Monitor quality control activities and processes at suppliers. Review and analyze corrective action and non-conformance data to eliminate non-conformances.
•    Recommend new techniques and processes to improve the flow of data and documentation
•    Assist with training production staff in the implementation of QMS and inspection procedures.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
•    Knowledge of machining, special processes and applicable specifications
•    AS13000 8D Problem Solving Requirements training or experience  
•    Lean manufacturing basics 
•    Trouble shooting skills with focus on process improvement

•    Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, to convey ideas and processes

Experience & Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or related field preferred
•    2+ related experience in a manufacturing environment; machining industry preferred
•    Knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001); aerospace required

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $75400 to $113200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
