This position will measure and manages inventory levels to control and achieve metrics accordingly to the daily warehouse needs. This position requires effective communication with vendors and internal departmental users to achieve a timely delivery to meet demands. In addition, this position will demonstrate an intermediate ability to aid in developing new packaging processes and procedures and determine work priority based on the shipping schedule to prepare loads for pickup.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Issue orders and communicate with suppliers to ensure that the delivery of raw material, tooling, and other items is timely and in accordance with daily shipping needs. Expertise and execution required to expedite workflow and prioritization of job orders. As product is received and delivered to both internal and external stakeholders the warehouse records and recording program must be updated. Records will be verified and maintained against the information in the bill of lading, invoices, orders, logs, and or other records in accordance with company policies and standard working procedures.
Must participate and be actively engaged in daily/weekly ship plan meetings with updates to ship plan data. Forecast and generate production schedule that meets daily targets. Assists in identifying production material for release to shop floor.
Administrative duties including but not limited to verifying measurements on crates and or pallets before shipping and printing shipping labels. Consolidates and coordinates customer's shipments per their specifications including required certification copies. Generates Bills of Ladings, Export Documents, U.S. Government Application Shipping Documents (DD1659), Canada Customs invoices, Requisitions and Invoice Shipping Documents (DD1149). Creates ASN on customers web sites for shipping.
Professionally communicates with outside vendors regarding processing lead times, capacity and delinquent deliveries. Collaborate with internal leaders including engineering and quality control to ensure incoming material conforms to specifications. Obtains rates from carriers and coordinates trucks for pick up. Also, coordinates with outside vendors for truck availability and schedules for completion.
Responsible for scrap recycling control including but not limited to creating scrap BOL’s and notifying corresponding departments of incoming and outgoing rail cars with scrap.
Participates in lean activities and documents Best Practices.
Must be able to multi-task in a high paced environment while being detailed orient and communicate effectively to the team, customer, and other process partners.
Works compliantly, ethically, and legally in addition to ensuring all activity complies with SOX & Export Control requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Offices such as Outlook and Excel. ERP reporting (Syteline) experience highly desired.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors and customers timely and accurately.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
