MISSION:

This is an intermediate level position.  The person in this position is expected to make independent decisions and provide counsel to supervisors managers in areas which impact employees.  Works within overall business operation to maintain an atmosphere conducive to open communication within the organization and other Business Operation facilities. 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATION

Objective:

Provides Personnel/Human Relations administrative support for all employees within their organization.  Participates in the development, interpretation and communication of Human Relations Programs and operating policies.

  • Aids in the interpretation, administration, and support of operating policies. Coordinates and communicates decisions with Business Operation personnel as well as other operating facilities.
  • Identifies and recommends additional Human Resources programs and participates in their development.
  • Assists and coordinates division-wide or business operation specific functions as assigned (i.e., United Way, blood drives, annual picnic, etc.).
  • Conducts investigations and participates in the grievance process.
  • Maintains contact with professional associations and industries. Keeps abreast of local and national business trends with particular emphasis on new legal developments relative to human relations and labor relation laws and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing for supervisor meetings.
  • Manage internal communication systems; i.e., reader board, bulletin boards, news letters, etc.
  • Assist/Facilitate New Hire Orientation.
  • Provide counsel and support to line managers in resolving personnel issues, program development/implementation, etc.
  1. EMPLOYMENT

Objective:

Provide primary selection and staffing support for the business facility. Typical Activities:

  1. Recruits, screens, and interviews for all positions for their operation.
  2. Develops advertising copy for recruitment and coordinates placement of same with the Corporate Recruiter.
  3. Conducts exit interviews for their organization.

 

  1. Provides input to employees concerning their career goals and assists in the development of those goals.
  2. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Objective:

Facilitates the development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans and manager/supervisor training programs in Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action requirements.

Typical Activities:

  1. Facilitates the development and administration of B.O.'s Affirmative Action Plans including workforce analysis, applicant tracking, and goal setting. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local EEO laws.

 

  1. Develops, implements, conducts and administers B.O. wide training for managers/supervisors in Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action. Coordinates training with the respective department manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of Bachelors in Human Resources or Business or equivalent, with an emphasis in HR, minimum of 2-4 years generalist experience.
  2. Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and a broad general understanding of the business function.
  3. General knowledge of the personnel function, emerging HR trends, and familiarity with all areas of sound HR practices.
  4. Minimum demonstrated proficiency in at least two specialities, such as, Employment, EEO and AACP, Training and Development, Compensation, Labor Relations law etc.
  5. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
