Mission:
To plan, schedule, supervise and perform a wide variety of procedures, processes, audits or inspections and experiments. Position supports the LPC-S Foundry and Cleaning departments. Perform shop support functions as a member of an engineering team that reduces process variation and cost to the business. May be required to work with hazardous waste. This Technician conducts audits, inspections and develop procedures that help decrease rework, improve efficiency of operators whilst meeting product specifications.

Essential Job Functions:
1.    Position supports the LPC-S Foundry and Cleaning departments
2.    Complete function of 1st Inspection for LPC-S and collect and summarize results of process performance.
3.    Execute Process Control Engineering directed experiments/tests and audits.
4.    Plan, schedule, complete and evaluate large projects. Create and/or track to project milestone plan. 
5.    Create manufacturing instructions.
6.    Analyze manufacturing productivity and efficiency by using PCC data management system. 
7.    Gather, record, analyze and summarize data in various formats; prepares technical reports of results; evaluates projects goals and processes.
8.    Provide hands-on demonstration or training for new processes and techniques in areas of expertise.
9.    When requested by the Process Control manager, perform all duties of the certification level the technician holds.
10.    Other duties as assigned.

Training:
Training is provided on the job. 

Qualifications
1.    Experience completing vis/dim responsibilities and familiarity with defects found in large structural castings.
2.    Demonstrated ability to write and follow detailed work instructions, create process and training records and make progress observations and accurately record technical data required.
3.    Ability to use various computer systems and software including Excel, Word, Access, Microsoft Outlook Email, Innovator, Tibco WebFocus and others as required. 
4.    For any other area: Demonstrated understanding of areas core competencies.
5.    Knowledge on how to use inspection tools
6.    Six-Sigma Green Belt or willingness to achieve. 
7.    Ability to relate professionally with a diverse workforce and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
8.    Ability to be able to provide constructive feedback, both positive and negative, to co-workers.  This includes hourly and salary positions.
9.    Innovative mindset that searches out creative solutions to new and old problems. 
10.   Ability to multi-task while properly prioritizing workload; must be highly organized. 
11.   Ability to work independently and as a team member, and to give and receive instructions and training. 
12.   Ability and desire to continue education and take classes to improve job skills as needed. 
13.   Willingness to take PCC training courses related to the processing of castings (i.e. Rework Analyst class, NDT classes, etc.)
14.   Willingness to work flexible hours as needed by projects and off shift inspection/training. 
15.   Ability/Willingness to travel to other plants for benchmarking and process improvement needs.
16.   Physical ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
17.   20/30 correctable Vision and satisfactory passage of depth perception and color vision.
