PURPOSE 

Solve critical manufacturing challenges as a key member of the SSBO Manufacturing Engineering 
Team. We provide robust solutions to produce exacting parts for the aerospace industry. You will 
be depended upon for sound project management, critical infrastructure improvements, and 
technical expertise pertaining to industrial equipment. 

 

SENIOR CONTROLS ENGINEER 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Oversee general industrial controls projects to support production 
• Program & support industrial PLCs and control systems 
• Manage & execute capital projects from start to finish: 
▪ Develop specifications for custom industrial controls equipment 
▪ Develop and adhere to project timetables and budgets 
▪ Write and submit documentation for capital project funding 
▪ Quote & work with purchasing to procure equipment 
▪ Direct installation of equipment and processes 
▪ Provide after-installation equipment support and program improvements 


• Assist other PCC engineering teams on solving controls-based process problems 
• Create project presentation content for engineering management 
• Maintain software change logs for PLCs and other programmable hardware 
• Work directly with varied teams with unique goals to successfully complete projects 
• Use mathematical and statistical methods to prove and model plans 
• Work closely with and favorably represent PCC with customers and suppliers 


 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum B.S. in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field 
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience 
• Minimum 1 years of project management experience 
• Experience working with or programming industrial equipment 
• Logical and analytic approach to problem solving 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 


 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working with Allen Bradley and Modicon PLCs 
• Understanding of hydraulic systems 
• Understanding of motion control systems 
• Knowledge of furnaces, pressure vessels, and other related foundry equipment 
• P.M.P. Certification 
• Understanding of electrical and safety circuit design concepts 
• Experience supervising other engineers and/or technicians
