LOCATION: The Douglas facility is located in south central Georgia approximately 65 miles north of the Florida state line. Douglas is centrally located between Macon, GA and Jacksonville, FL; approximately two hours drive from either city. Valdosta, GA is about one hour’s drive away. Golf, tennis, fishing and hunting are popular outdoor activities.

 

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:     PCC Douglas principally manufactures aircraft and land-based gas turbine engine rotating blades, stationary vanes and engine nozzles for OEM’s and the aftermarket for worldwide customers using the investment casting process.

JOB FUNCTION:

Supervision of employees, supervisors and departmental functions. Receives training in duties (OJT) from other Area Managers, Operations Manager and other Staff.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

[1]        Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area, including departmental variable cost, schedules, earned standard hours, scrap reduction, labor utilization, and materials and material variances.

 

[2]        Organizes and plans work assigned to work group.

 

[3]        Concentrates on direct supervision of assigned group and spends most of the time checking and observing.

 

[4]        Coordinates procurement of materials, equipment and tooling with Purchasing and Engineering to assure scheduled completion dates are maintained.

 

[5]        Works with Technical and Engineering personnel on new product development and implementation. Weekly development sales update with Sales, Quality and Engineering.

 

[6]        Maintains inventory and control of all perishable tools and measurement equipment.         Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment and their repair cost. Responsible for departmental capital budget.

 

[7]        Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

 

[8]        Coordinates work with other shifts and departments to meet departmental needs.

 

[9]        Performs other duties, such as: issuing requisitions for materials from stores and from outside vendors and following jobs in process to meet Customer request dates.

 

[10]      Supervises 30 to 200 workers; maintains attendance records, vacation schedules and personnel performance records; makes periodic reports to Operations Manager concerning these reports, records, etc.

 

[11]      Conduct Performance Appraisals on direct reports.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Bachelor Degree preferably in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent years of experience.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

5+ years manufacturing experience; Minimum of 2+ years supervisory experience is preferred.

Supervisory Skills a must.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

 

·         Experience with alloy purchasing.

 

·         Strong understanding of project management methodology.

 

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify and anticipate internal and external customer needs and design/execute quantitative approaches.

 

  • Must be detail oriented and numbers driven with a concern for quality.

 

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in an ad-hoc, fast-paced environment.

 

  • Strong customer focus skills.

 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to adjust based on the audience/end user community.

 

  • Ability to consistently follow policies and procedures.
