Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineering will coordinate manufacturing engineering functions including analyzing part manufacturability in determining the requirements/process needed for product development through production for a specific product line, multiple machining cells, or designated part families.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate as a member of the Manufacturing Operations team and serve as business partner strong business partner with the Quality and Engineering departments.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods while anticipating and reacting to emerging business needs.
- Updates routers as required.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, piece flow, and equipment design layout for maximum efficiency.
- Partners with planning and design engineers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Partners with vendors to determine product specifications and manage purchase requisitions for equipment, materials, and part in evaluation and support of specification and quality standards.
- Partners with Manufacturing Engineering interns to mentor, facilitate work, and support projects as needed.
- Works closely with leadership to other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- Champion Six Sigma and facilitate lean initiatives.
- Leads to completion multiple special projects.

- Knowledge of CNC machines, tools, and tooling
- Familiar with lean manufacturing work area practices including 6S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes.
Required Experience:
- 3 years of progressively broadening manufacturing experience.
- Experience with CNC machining in a heavy manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.
Level of Education:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Operations, or similar.
