Under general supervision, inspects castings by the evaluation of X-Ray exposed films developed to ensure conformance to customer requirements using established inspection methods following established safety and operating procedures approved by Quality Assurance. Ensures that documentation, tooling and parts are correctly matched to paperwork. Certifies castings, patterns and other articles conform to production guidelines and customer requirements by performing X-Ray inspection functions. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work. 
•    Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
•    Works under general supervision performing X-Ray inspection functions on castings, wax patterns and other articles following established x-ray inspection methods.
•    Reports discrepancies to management/supervisor as required based on experience.
•    Sets up, shoots and develops films. 
•    Checks traveler to ensure proper completion.
•    Mixes and maintains developer and fixer solution.
•    Sets up castings as described on technique sheet.
•    Attends classroom training as required.
•    Operates x-ray machine, developer, and densitometer after qualification and training.
•    Follows x-ray techniques and processes as required. 
•    Demonstrate ability to recognize and communicate production problems to your supervisor.
•    Be able to maintain average production efficiency with an acceptable rejection rate.
•    Possess ability to maintain and demonstrate competence in shooting and processing film after receiving instructions.
•    Demonstrate good safety working habits including the wearing of radiation monitoring badges.
•    Possess a working knowledge of applicable QCP's, customer and MIL specifications.
•    Be proficient in using the on-line computer system as required in their job and identified in their procedures to perform their assigned tasks.
•    Demonstrate the ability to follow X Ray technique cards proficiently.
•    Errors must be kept below 5% which require re-shots. 
•    Prepares shooting sketches and techniques and interfaces with customers when required.
•    Checks traveler to ensure proper completion.
•    Determines and marks castings for salvage.
•    Works with engineering and rework personnel as needed.
•    Meet the requirements of QCP 8.6 and maintain the requirements and skills of all previous levels for that department and make and maintain efficiency standards.
•    Demonstrate leadership ability and set good examples for the rest of the department.  
•    Demonstrate above average value in the department and must maintain above average production.
•    Be knowledgeable of all other N.D.T. methods as currently used. 
•    Meets all production and quality standards. Follows set OPC’s and QCP’s.
•    All other duties assigned.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS: 
•    Training is provided on the job and will be documented by Verbal, Written, or Practical Testing.
•    Completion of the X-Ray Safety Training Course, including test is required.
•    OSHA Training format on Lead (letters, cabinet lining, etc.) is required.
•    OSHA Training format on Confined spaces.
•    Work requirements are documented in the Job Qualification Requirement Forms (JQRF).  Experience and/or training are included in considerations.
•    Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follows and interprets instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions.
•    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
•    Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures.
•    Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
 

 

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $24 to $37 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
