Southwest United Industries Tulsa operates from a 100,000 square feet modern and well-maintained facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Former headquarters for Southwest United Industries (prior to acquisition), the site offers single source metal finishing for newly manufactured parts and for repair and overhaul applications.

Position Summary:

Selected candidates for an Level One Quality Inspector position, at the direction of the Quality Manager, level one quality inspectors train to develop the ability to use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspection of products such as machined parts, mechanical assemblies, processed parts and purchased standard hardware. They also perform verifications of part identification and configurations. Level one quality inspectors will arrange inspection queues to identify priority work. In addition, they will identify and segregate non-conforming product using basic knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing methods per ASME 14.5, and common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators as necessary to complete assignments. Level one quality inspectors will demonstrate blueprint reading and basic math skills, basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use MRP or ERP systems after instruction. Typically 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • With assistance, perform in process and completed inspections for machined, purchased or assembled product.
  • Organize incoming inspection work by identifying work priority.
  • Identify and separate non-conforming product from conforming product.

Required Skills:

  • Basic proficiency in shop math and GD&T comprehension and application.
  • Basic print reading and application.
  • A familiarity with a wide range of inspection tools and processes.
  • Basic computer and software literacy. (MS Suite, File Navigation)

Required Experience:

  • This position is an entry level position and offers training opportunities. However, experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Typically 0-1 years of experience

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
