The Chemical Inventory Planner is responsible for managing supply and demand for all chemicals in the 
plant. Management of chemicals requires the planner to receive, record, identify, store, monitor, locate, 
and issue a variety of chemicals and critical supplies related to chemical planning, consumption, and 
disposal. The planner works directly with chemical vendors and prepares requisitions for all expense 
purchases. The planner works closely with Purchasing and Operations teams to assure that the chemicals
arrive on time and are of highest quality. 
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 
• Labeling of all received chemical items with SPS item numbers, lot numbers, expiration dates
• Maintaining inventory in multiple locations throughout the shop. (transfers, issues, cycle counts)
• Scanning of manufacturer’s certifications into system for traceability and expirations.
• Create purchase requisitions from safety stock report 
• Edit item masters to adjust safety stock levels when needed
• Track expiration dates in system to insure only current usable inventory is available
• Work with tool crib when inventory needs to be moved or issued from tool crib to cabinet locations
• Work with receiving dept for bulk items when received to be labeled and moved to proper area’s of 
building
• Use of pallet jacks and fork lift. 
• Work with plant facilities to supply purchasing history for government reporting.
• Work with plant facilities when disposal of chemicals is necessary.
Required Skills:
• The ability to read and write English
• Experience in handling and proper storage of chemicals
• Basic computer skills: ERP, Scanning/folder navigation, Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication and critical organization skills
Required Experience:
• 1-5 years working with chemicals 
Level of Education:
• GED or High School diploma required. College degree preferred.
