POSTION SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer under minimal direction is responsible for supporting Quality System and Product Specification compliance. Utilizes a wide range of knowledge, experience and professional skills to drive Quality Engineering and Quality Management System Improvement initiatives and projects.

The candidate is a focal point for interfacing Quality issues with internal and external customers, suppliers, regulators ensuring compliance to the appropriate requirements including non-conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures and corrections.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Level II: 

  • Participates in the review and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Prepares reports to management and customers regarding various processes, qualifications & problems.
  • Reviews procedures, purchase orders, drawings, manufacturing travelers, process data, specifications, supplier documents, certifications, and reports for adequacy and completeness.
  • Formulates quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Participates in AS9100 Quality Management System Audits.
  • Reviews drawings and related specifications prior to release and after changes.
  • Participates in the review and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Establishes sampling plans for the acceptance of materials and products.
  • Participates in customer audits.
  • Performs Contract review for Quality requirements and implements appropriate actions to fulfill those requirements such as Quality plans, FAI (First Article Inspection) Customer PDR, Customer audits and act as final review and sign-off for product shipments to the Customer.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 Level II: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace engineering, or 6 years of equivalent experience and certifications.

Experience: 4+ years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Black/Green Belt Six Sigma Certified.

AS 9100D Lead Auditor Certification.  

NADCAP experience.

Project Management.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Aerospace and Manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent and proven problem-solving skills and strong technical aptitude.
  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Experience with NADCAP audit and accreditation requirements (such as Chemical Processing, Heat Treating, NDT and Material Test Lab).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including GD&T, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Process improvement experience (Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control Methods).
  • First Article Inspection, Quality Test Plans, and Inspection Processes experience.
  • Manages projects, is organized, able to prioritize work, and make appropriate decisions
  • Strong applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists.
  • Familiar with APQP methodology.
  • pFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) experience.
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $78000 to $118200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
