Location Profile:
Alloy Processing is a plant within PCC that processes a wide variety of aluminum and titanium aerospace parts for PCC and external companies. Along with processing, Alloy also performs nondestructive inspection, anodization, and painting services. Alloy has a 100,000 square foot facility consisted of two buildings in Compton, CA and employees approximately 125 employees.  

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of a metal processing operation.

As a member of the Operations Team, the Manufacturing Supervisor interacts and cooperates with team members in Quality, and Shipping and Receiving to contribute to the daily delivery of on time and quality products.

Reporting Relationships: The Manufacturing Supervisor will report to the Director of Operations

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure equipment and resources are managed to meet daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly Throughput, Shipping and Productivity Targets.
• Use Daily Jobs Report and the Staffing Report to track and plan personnel according production plans
• Review Priority Dispatch Report to ensure past due work orders are prioritized and completed
• Prepare and communicate results and challenges at the daily Line Walk.
• Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Communicate and work with other departments as required to provide data, and resolve operational issues.
• Identify, research, and coordinate plans to resolve any Quality Hold issues
• Maintain and improve Quality First Pass efforts by establishing and enforcing organization standards, and participate in MRB team meetings
• Develop and Manage plans to limit Rework
• Elevates production issues to Director of Operations
• Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain adequate staff levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees;
• Resolve Personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
• Maintain Safe and Clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all PPE, control points, and equipment; maintaining compliance with established Safety policies and procedures
• Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Build and promote a lean culture through the use of tools such as 6S, 7 wastes, kaizen, PDCA, kanban, takt, etcof daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements
• Work on special projects, implementations and report preparation as requested
• Must be able to work weekends at Month, and Quarter End.
Required Experience:
• University/College Engineering Degree preferred
• Experience in manufacturing supervision, and/or scheduling/planning, Aerospace Industry preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Aerospace Manufacturing
• Expereince in AS9100 and NADCAP Quality system environments
Required Skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP Systems and Microsoft office products
