The Quality Specialist works to ensure quality standards within the EB, PAM, VAR, and Conversion Processes are met by completing various tasks, including prioritizing Quality Specialist activities, record review, product release, document control and support of manufacturing and process improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between Production Planning and Quality to ensure Quality Specialist activities are prioritized based upon customer/production/shipping needs.
  • Reviews and analyzes production documentation to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements
  • Performs data entry validation processes as defined by existing work instructions on melted product material to ensure quality standards are met
  • Investigates nonconformance errors, deviations, and unplanned events noted in the production batch records; interacts with Quality Engineer(s) to formulate corrective action as necessary
  • Interacts with suppliers, customers, and coworkers regarding quality issues and specifications; responds to customer requests and works with management to resolve issues as needed
  • Documents inspection results and enters relevant information into various databases; updates and maintains relevant work procedures and forms

Education & Experience

  • Two year technical degree OR in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma/GED with two years experience in manufacturing plant quality assurance/quality control, audit systems and or inspections; background in chemistry, industrial specifications and manufacturing a plus.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint preferred)
  • Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy.
