The Douglas facility is located in south central Georgia approximately 65 miles north of the Florida state line. Douglas is centrally located between Macon, GA and Jacksonville, FL; approximately two hours drive from either city. Valdosta, GA is about one hour’s drive away. JOB FUNCTION:
Supervision of employees and departmental functions. Receives training in duties (OJT)
from other Supervisors, Coordinator, Area Manager and other staff members.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
[1] Supervises day-to-day operations of his/her work group.
[2] Organizes and plans all the work load assigned to his/her work group.
[3] Concentrates on direct supervision of his/her assigned group.
[4] Procures or arranges procurement of materials and tooling needed to meet schedule completion dates.
[5] Works with Technical and Engineering personnel on new product development.
[6] Maintains inventory of all perishable tools and measurement equipment: gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
[7] Check safety measures to prevent injury to employees (includes housekeeping).
[8] Responsible for productivity and quality goals of his/her work group.
[9] Coordinates work with other shifts and departments to meet departmental
needs.
[10] Performs other duties, such as: issuing requisitions for materials from stores
and from outside vendors and following jobs in process to meet Customer
request dates.
[11] Supervises 5 to 35 workers; maintains attendance records, vacation schedules
and personnel performance records; makes periodic reports to Department
Manager concerning these reports, records, etc.
Five (5) years manufacturing or equivalent supervisory experience.
Errors could be costly. Extensive contact with direct reports. Detailed contact with Area Managers and others. Exposed to some confidential data.
SUPERVISION:
Continuous direct supervision of 5 – 35 employees.
Relocation is authorized for this position.
