Location Profile:

PCC Aerostructures Auburn is a kitting, assembly, and integration center that was created in 1999 as Primus International with the merger of Bumstead Manufacturing, Inc. and Hansen Machine Corporation. Precision Castparts Corp. acquired Primus International in August, 2011 and has since merged GCM North American Aerospace and Compass Aerospace Northwest with Auburn to create a vertical integration solutions center for medium assembly. The site is a center of excellence for hard metal machining and door assembly.

Position Summary:

Following specific instructions, the Deburr Employee operates handheld tools to deburr manufacturing products, ensuring all productivity, safety and quality guidelines are achieved.

Shift:

Weekday Nights (Swing): Monday - Thursday, 3:20 pm – 1:50 am

Compensation and Benefits:

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.00-$29.00 USD (hourly) based on a variety of factors. Employees working this shift (weekday night/swing) are also eligible for $1.00 per hour shift differential. Also, for informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will also receive 96 hours of Paid Time Off leave every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participant in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand, adhere, and demonstrate the company’s commitment to safety and quality
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance according to shift times or a pre-arranged work schedule
  • With minimal to no supervision, perform all levels of hand finishing tasks such as edge breaking and employing a number of different deburr tools and media to achieve specified surface finishes on a number of different materials
  • Utilize a number of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, etc.
  • Follow instructions and directions given by their immediate lead, manager, or senior machinist
  • Ensure the scheduled cycle time to deburr a scheduled product vs. actual time taken to deburr a product is being completed under set cycle times or meet scheduled cycle times
  • Ensures tools are operating in a safe manner, following all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-5 years of related experience; experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to meet expectations for required competencies including: 1) safety, health, and environmental awareness, 2) business ethics and compliance, 3) technical/professional competence and quality/time management, 4) interpersonal relations and communication skills, 5) initiative, flexibility, innovation, and adaptability, 6) continuous improvement and problem solving, and 7) planning and organizing
  • Moderate to advanced print reading competencies
  • Ability to use hand-held deburr tools such as grinders, polishers, and pedestal grinders
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions during production and follow all safety protocols
  • Machine shop experience and/or on the job training
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to work across departments to meet product quality standards efficiently
  • Ability to follow instructions given by the operations manager, lead, or senior machinist and carry them out correctly
  • Ability to interpret instructions given and apply experience and training throughout the course of the day for each production job assigned
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to read and interpret the English language
  • Willingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train others
