Location Profile:

Located in Gardena, California, Permaswage designs and manufactures separable and permanent fluid fittings and installation tooling for aerospace and defense applications.

Position Summary:

Provide plant support for all environmental health and safety programs to promote best safety practices while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Update and review plans and programs to ensure full compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and Cal/OSHA Title 8 Regulations
    • Lockout tagout, machine guarding, fall protection etc.
  • Must be able to conduct audits, job safety analysis, PPE assessments, risk assessments, etc.
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis while implementing corrective actions while tracking corrective actions to closure.
  • Assist and advise on injury mitigation and ergonomic programs
  • Confidently represent the facility when dealing with regulatory agencies and maintain credible working relationships with them
  • Propose and formulate strategies to address upcoming environmental regulatory requirements
  • Schedule and ensure required regulatory training is provided to all employees in accordance with applicable safety regulations
  • Schedule and ensure adequate training is provided to those assisting environmental functions such as systems pertaining to air quality, spills, storm water sampling and hazardous/non-hazardous waste handling
    • Perform necessary environmental sampling and tracking i.e., storm water, clarifiers, VOC’S
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the governing federal, state, and local health and safety regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing BS degree in EHS or related field 
  • ASP Certification Preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental, health and safety laws and regulations specifically OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and Cal/OSHA – Title 8 Regulations
  • 0-2 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing setting

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $18.00 to $23.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 48  hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
