Location Profile:

Carlton Forge Works produces seamless rolled rings as well as open and closed-die forgings for the aerospace, gas turbine, industrial, commercial, and nuclear industries while using one of the most extensive lines of equipment and truly skilled craftsmen anywhere.

Job Summary:

The inspector is responsible for performing final and in-inspection to aerospace parts against a customer’s or internal blue print.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Inspect In-process parts and fully machined parts with standard tools  
  • Perform first part inspections
  • Interpret job router/manufacturing order
  • Perform verifications of part identification and configurations
  • Arrange inspection queues to identify work priority
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product
  • Able to be trained on GD&T
  • Use basic inspection tools such as surface plates, micrometers, height gages, etc. to inspect parts
  • Perform full first article inspection
  • Basic part transport
  • Interpret certifications
  • Perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Maintain area cleanliness and organization within 6S initiative
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g., Quality and Safety).
  • Observe all company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Able to work 1st or 2nd shift
  • 1+ years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to read blue and understand prints, Engineering diagrams and sketches
  • Experience using measuring tools: micrometer, Dial Indicators Height Gage, Calipers
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 35 lbs, may not exceed per EHS Policies
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ANSI Y14.5 a plus
  • Experience in forge industry is highly preferred but not required

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19 to $23 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
