Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include: CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

The Manufacturing Engineer, under minimal supervision, shall support the business in areas of product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high quality product.

  • Develops manufacturing processes, process improvements, and provides related technical support.
  • Analyze production data and look for trends indicating potential problems and develop solutions for potential problems.
  • Provide process control systems in the form of instructions, standards, data collection and feedback loops.
  • Utilize PCC toolbox such as; Lean Six Sigma in order to improve factory performance.
  • Manage manufacturing related projects and coordinate activities with various internal and external suppliers.
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or commensurate experience.
  • Prior experience in Aerospace preferred.
  • Must have the ability to reason and arrive at conclusions with minimum help and have basic understanding of statistics. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, CAD software a plus.
  • Must be able to demonstrate, team work, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
  • Solid Works and AutoCAD computer software experience will be a plus
  • Ability to read blue prints at an advanced level.
  • Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to think spatially and creatively at an advanced level.
  • Ability to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
  • Uses computer software (MS Office): Excel, Word, CAD.
  • Uses Inspection equipment: Calipers, Micrometers.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
