Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing and directing all maintenance department assignments; ensuring a safe work environment while driving the achievement of safety, equipment uptime, cost and productivity. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for keeping the production output optimized and maintaining seamless functioning of all equipment and machinery in the plant. This position requires extensive experience in project management, manufacturing, facility maintenance, supervision of maintenance technicians, and hands-on experience with industrial electrical and hydraulics.
Essential Functions
- Supervise all aspects of maintenance on all plant equipment and facilities
- Schedule manpower requirements
- Work in shop or field as required
- Serve as department lead for all audits pertaining to maintenance records and practices
- Coordinate with production planners to schedule maintenance activities
- Design and implement written preventative maintenance procedures
- Plan details of working procedures to determine material or replacement needs
- Select logical approach to trouble shooting and repair problems.
- Maintains performance and maintenance records
- Maintains spare parts inventory
- Recommend vendors and specifications for all new equipment.
- Supervise specification and installation of all new facilities and plant equipment.
- Train supervisory personnel and operators in the proper use of equipment controls to reduce downtime, prevent machine damage, reduce maintenance costs, and produce quality products.
- Help determine arrangement of plant facilities to maximize product flow efficiency.
- Encourage and achieve professional development and growth for all maintenance personnel to result in a team of trained personnel to fill future assignments
- Help build a strong quality culture throughout the organization that will result in individual and group pride in doing the job right the first time and a quality system based on modern methods of statistical quality control
- Manage the facilities to provide a safe, clean environment that meets internal and external standards for health, safety, and effective personnel and labor relations
- Assure environmental compliance in all operations and areas of responsibility

Education and Experience
- B.S. in Engineering and 5 years of relevant maintenance experience or at least 10 years’ experience in Maintenance Planning and Reliability Centered Maintenance is required. A CMMS training certificate is also required along with 5 years demonstrated maintenance supervision or management experience.

A high school diploma or GED and at least seven years of experience. Solid Maintenance or reliability experience is required. Specific course work that is highly desirable – Maintenance Planning, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and a CMMS training certificate.
