Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for marketing in the areas of both repair and new manufacturing for a global leader in aviation. The Business Development Manager is dedicated to the customer experience, is an excellent collaborator who can lead a team, and understands that there is no substitution for personal interactions and relationships. The talented person who assumes this position will fulfill their development goals through drive, energy, and passion for the customer. The Business Development Manager must be as comfortable giving a professional presentation in a multi-national company’s boardroom as speaking to a mechanic on the shop floor of a small, family-owned helicopter company.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:   

  • Spend 50% or more of time in national travel
  • Establish and sustain long-term strategic relationships with global aircraft operators
  • Lead the sales process, including collaborative work with multiple departments, to successfully deliver customer satisfaction
  • Oversee a portfolio of assigned customers to grow new business from existing customers
  • Actively seek new sales opportunities with potential customers
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Analyzes sales statistics, directs sales forecasting activities, and sets performance goals
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products and services
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
  • Assists in the development and implementation of sales budget
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program
  • Assists other departments within organization to prepare marketing & technical publications
  • Work with Operations and Purchasing Departments to ensure material is available to support sales; including, identifying critical safety stock levels
  • Work with Engineering and Operations Departments to ensure proper fabrication and/or repair of parts, and successful completion of projects

  • Ability to work in a team environment in a fast paced manufacturing plant
  • Capable of understanding the technical nuances of the key product lines

 

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of high school degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience. Ideal candidate will have 10-plus years of sales experience in the aerospace industry and have strong knowledge of both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and protocol is a plus
