Position Summary:

As a key member of the management team, the Quality Manager is responsible to ensure that quality processes are implemented to hit business strategy.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in business and strategic planning.
  • Execute root cause analysis and timely resolution of scrap and rework events.
  • Develop goals and objectives for in-process tests/controls to meet and maintain minimum defect levels while improving overall quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, plan and put in place short/long term quality objectives, goals and measurements.
  • Execute changes in methods, sampling techniques and control procedures/processes to ensure maximum quality for cost.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems and assigned governmental/divisional quality policies, programs, plans, procedures/practices consistently and accurately.
  • Direct visual/electronic, electrical/mechanical inspection and testing of parts/products.
  • Audit work policies, practices, processes, records documentation for compliance and makes corrections as required.
  • Prepare budgets, develop estimates of personnel needs and develop work methods to accomplish assigned work within approved
  • Direct and participate in the accurate and timely preparation of corrective action requests and reports.
  • Directly supervises the quality department.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including operations, engineering, human resources, finance and sales to implement approved programs.

  • Customer Returns (Schedule 13)
  • Scrap and Rework (Schedule 10)
  • Fixed Cost

 

Key Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years of progressively increasing responsibilities in the Quality field, OR a master’s degree in Quality Management and two (2) years of experience in the Quality field, OR equivalent experience. (Aero industry strongly preferred )
  • Broad technical and analytical engineering and quality experience as applied to product, manufacturing and process/repair development
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Minimum 3 years management/supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Experience with quality systems, quality improvement techniques; technical audit; and corrective/preventive action desired.
  • Accreditation as a Quality Engineer
