 Mission:

Perform shop support functions as a member of an engineering team that reduces process variation and cost to the business.  Apply practical experience gained from working in the shop to personally lead or provide suggestions on rework plans, error proofing working instructions and executing continuous improvements to achieve business goals.  To provide solutions to complex problems in major area and carry out projects independently.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop rework plans for scrap risk parts with the engineer.
  • Work with shop leads and supervisors to have rework plans performed. Communicate with operators performing the work to ensure understanding of plan.
  • Track status of project parts at TBO and LMA.
  • Perform BT/AT evals to cover gaps in shop or engineering coverage.
  • Perform misc. shop support on the weekend.
  • Over audit visual inspection, dimensional inspection, grinding and provide direct feedback to the applicable employee on corrections to make.
  • Back up for post hip inspection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years prior relevant experience OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 2-3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR B.S. degree with 1-2 years of specific relevant experience OR equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience grinding and completing vis/dim responsibilities required
  • Experience with PCC routing, welding, and experience as a lead, trainer, auditor, and/or coordinator strongly preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to apply a wide variety of technical procedures under general directions and to complete work independently.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, evaluate and coordinate designated projects.
  • Basic knowledge of Blueprint reading, and GD&T required.
  • Modeling experience with Solidworks or NX preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience with a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
