Summary:
As part of the finishing operation in the casting manufacturing process, Welders have a critical role and are responsible for the repair and salvage on a variety of castings.  Their work helps to ensure that the highly complex aluminum parts that are provided to our customers are within required specifications.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and providing recommendations to help make PCC a safe work environment.
•    Achieve team production and efficiency goals by working to meet all operational and quality standards to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
•    Perform Tig welding to repair and salvage a wide variety of simple to moderately difficult castings with varied defects, except D357 alloys.  
•    Ability to pass weld test plates certification test to be certified to work on aerospace castings.
•    Knowledge and ability to work with the majority of alloys produced by the plant and meet x-ray and zyglo standards.
•    Ability to determine the type and size of welding rod, tungsten electrodes and other variables.
•    Perform necessary routing and cleaning of defective areas prior to welding.  Grinds and blends after welding to meet blueprint specifications.
•    Exercise care in welding to obtain proper penetration to avoid burning, inclusions, or other welding defects.  

Experience and Education:
•    A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but may be substituted by manufacturing experience.
•    One to three years of manufacturing experience preferred, previous experience in the casting industry is a plus.

•    Understanding of basic math calculations.
•    Ability to use precision measuring instruments, test equipment or other devices where interpretation is required.  
•    Ability to perform duties in manufacturing environment which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.  Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
