Location Profile:

PCC Aerostructures Auburn is a kitting, assembly, and integration center that was created in 1999 as Primus International with the merger of Bumstead Manufacturing, Inc. and Hansen Machine Corporation. Precision Castparts Corp. acquired Primus International in August, 2011 and has since merged GCM North American Aerospace and Compass Aerospace Northwest with Auburn to create a vertical integration solutions center for medium assembly. The site is a center of excellence for hard metal machining and door assembly.

Position Summary:

Level Two – Building upon level one, level two maintenance mechanics are usually master mechanic helpers working under direct supervision to perform retrofits, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on NC machines. They will demonstrate the ability to use basic measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers and basic shop math. Typically 4-6 years of experience.

Reporting Relationships:

The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Shift:

7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediate maintenance tasks (More complex PM tasks)
• Perform basic equipment repairs (electrical motors, way-covers conveyors, pneumatics, etc.)

Required Skills:

• Intermediate mechanical competencies
• Basic familiarity with electrical systems
• Basic troubleshooting (Machines & Systems)

Physical Activities Required to Perform Responsibilities:

• Ability to: stand continually, walk regularly, sit continually, hear/listen carefully regularly, climb and/or balance infrequently, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally, twist occasionally at the trunk or neck, bend occasionally, reach with hands and arms regularly, taste and/ use sense of smell infrequently, use hands to manipulate, handle and/or feel in the act of performing the required responsibilities of the position.
• Must be able to: lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Visual acuity needed for close detail work, clarity with distance, distinction with color, peripheral observation up and down/left and right, depth perception for distance and spatial relationships, sharp focus of objects brought into line of sight.
• Mental dexterity needed to work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.

Required Experience:

• Level two maintenance techs should have 2-4 years of experience.

 Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
