PCC Structurals is the world leader in superalloy, aluminum and titanium investment casting.  With applications in jet aircraft engines, airframes, industrial gas turbine (IGT) engines, military armaments, medical prosthesis, and many other industrial markets, we provide a wide portfolio of high-quality components, some as large as 100 inches (250cm).

PCC Structurals also provides solidification modeling, in-house rapid prototyping (including SLA), digital radiography, hot isostatic pressing, precision machining and protective coating services. We operate 11 manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe.

PCC San Leandro specializes in air and vacuum investment cast components for aerospace, energy and commercial applications. With over 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space located in the east Bay Area of California, San Leandro’s renowned engineering services and superior capabilities have resulted in significant growth for the plant.
To develop and supervise the implementation, coordination and maintenance of a valid and realistic Master Production schedule supporting the plant sales and operations plan and to provide feedback to the manufacturing and execute staff regarding the plants ability to execute based on resource requirements. In conjunction with operational planning, ensure the raw materials necessary to make parts is on hand and available at the best possible price.

MASTER SCHEDULE DEVELOPMENT

Objective: To develop a master schedule in support for the sales and operations plan.

Maintains fiscal year, quarter, monthly forecasts across all product families and planning bill of material and releases the production plan to the master schedule in the data base.

Uses a computer based ERP system and other feedback to locate and analyze data, identify trends and make realistic assumptions concerning manufacturing capacity, material availability, lead times and other operating variables.

Approve and monitor estimated ship dates for products and communicates to sales, marketing, order entry and the customer.

Maintains the Resource Capacity Profiles for the plant used by Rough Cut Capacity Planning and runs the rough cut capacity planning program in the data base.

Participates in the development and implementation of the Sales and Operations Plan and the MPS policies and procedures which will contribute to the overall effectiveness of a closed loop MRP system.

Manage the forecast consumption process assuring appropriate coordination between Planning and Sales/Marketing.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT

Objective: To resolve customer service issues and coordinate the efforts of the Customer Service Planner, manufacturing, sales and the customer in assuring on time delivery of customer orders.

Serves as a focal point for establishing Customer Order ship dates in compliance with the master schedule.

Manages abnormal demand to the master schedule, assures availability of materials, manufacturing, and engineering resources.

Resolves master schedule and customer requirement conflicts.

Supervises the liaison between the customer and PCC regarding schedule commitments and deviations and represents PCC in meetings with the customer both in house and at the customer's site.

Assign/maintain customer responsibility among Customer Service Planners.

MASTER SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE

Objective: To manage the master schedule to assure that it remains realistic, properly balanced with the actual orders received and available capacity.

Continually monitors the sales and operations plan, the master schedule, customer order backlog and the business aberrations delivery performance against the plan to identify changes, trends, short term deviations and/or forecast errors.

Maintains MPS time fences and other MPS system defaults in the data base by verifying manufacturing and purchasing lead times with manufacturing, engineering and purchasing.

Assures part number load profiles are useable and are a reflection of the part routing based on feedback from the Bill of Material Administrator, manufacturing engineering and manufacturing.

Produces regular management reports to communicate changes in the product mix, customer ordering trends, potential capacity problems, planned orders vs. actual orders and plant customer delivery performance to Sales and Operations group.

Maintains two way feedback with the capacity management and scheduling group regarding any changes and exceptions.

INVENTORY CONTROL

Objective: To effectively control and maintain inventories of dependent demand items assuring their availability as required by manufacturing and minimizing the plant's investment in excess inventories.

Supervises the liaison between planning, vendors, and/or Purchasing in communicating order requirements with respect to quantity and delivery date.

Supervises the maintenance of sufficient inventories of dependent demand items to prevent stock out occurrences at the production work centers.

Supervises the maintenance of order planning data for dependent demand items to assure appropriate responses to the master schedule while maintaining a minimal inventory investment.

DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Objective: To effectively and efficiently manage the master scheduling function in the Manufacturing Planning Department.

Has input for hiring, timely performance evaluations, salary changes, promotions, disciplinary action and transfers for the Account Managers. Will work closely with the Sales Manager in developing planning skills and responsibilities to the Account Manager job functions.

Provides input for the annual departmental budgeting process.

Assists in the training and orientation of new department employees, may provide work leadership to other department personnel through the assignment of work, monitoring of progress, review of results, orientation and technical instruction.

RAW MATERIAL/ OTHER PROCUREMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Objective: To ensure that the raw materials necessary to produce our products are ready and available as needed, while ensuring they are purchased at the lowest possible price in order to maximize part profitability.

Establish and maintain sources of supply for raw materials and other supplies/services to support company quality and customer delivery needs and government compliance.

Gather volume requirements and specifications from the Business Operation or Division.

Prepare and issue Requests For Quotes (RFQ). Prepare and issue PO’s and PO approvals.

Negotiate price, delivery service, terms and conditions for supplier contracts.

Maintains a system to keep all Structural Division Purchasing updated regarding current contracts.

Interface with Sales, Manufacturing Planning, Engineering, Quality, Production and vendors to assure adherence to contract terms.

Works directly with suppliers to resolve problems; locates other resources when needed.

Responsible for purchasing other general supplies as needed.

SHIPPING DOCK

Objective: To effectively manage the shipping & receiving department in all aspects.

Manage daily activities of all shipping and receiving employees.

Support the development of a daily ship plan, and ensure resources are aligned to achieve.

Understand and analyze all finished goods inventory, track, prioritize, and follow up with department specific stop works and ship holds.

A bachelor’s degree in a business-related curriculum is recommended.

Minimum four (4) years related professional experience with at least two (2) of those years in a related planner/scheduler/analyst position.

At least four (4) years demonstrated successful managerial experience.

Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills.

Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.

Demonstrated good organizational skills.
