Summary

The Business Systems Manager will work closely with plant management under the direction of the IT Manager towards improving business systems through upgrades, integrations, and implementations of new applications and technologies to support business processing for the entire organization. The primary responsibility of the position is to initiate, plan, and execute projects that improve business strategies towards gaining market position as a world leader in the production of highest quality superalloys. The Business Systems Manager must be able to balance workload between in-house and outsourced resources while managing business systems related projects. The Manager documents technical requirements, coordinates all aspects of the project life cycle, implements change control procedures, and manages multiple projects to meet stated customer-initiated deadlines.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work safely. Adhere to all Company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Facilitate the implementation and support of business and manufacturing systems projects under the direction of the IT Manager.
  • Ensure systems can be updated or implemented with a reasonable amount of work through business processes or system tools.
  • Manages user administration by implementing new user set up, network access and authorized security levels as required, developing, and maintaining user profiles, monitoring user access for segregation of duties, and terminating users to ensure that system access is limited to approved users.
  • Provide solutions to enhance continuous improvement initiatives across all business functions.
  • Develop project plans that outline detailed phases and include goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
  • Manage implementation of Quarion infrastructure for mobile equipment & pedestrian safety.
  • Keep up to date with the latest IT technologies and development tools.
  • Assist in the creation, development, and access to data by users through providing a platform for data analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration required.  

Ten+ years’ equivalent IT experience, required

 

Project Management Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of business cases and risk management processes.
  • Capability to make decisions in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Ability to monitor and control project budgets and resources.
  • Proven self-management and team-management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.

 

Recommended Experience

  • Manufacturing HMI and data collections systems including Rockwell Automation Factory Talk
  • Cloud-based development services including Azure, GitHub, Microsoft Power Platform
  • Microsoft O365 suite including Project, Visio, Teams, Excel
  • ERP applications: Epicor, SAP, Infor Syteline, Oracle
  • Microsoft SQL Server and .Net development tools

  • Occasion work required outside normal business hours.

Physical Demands – Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, scanner/copier, and printer.
