Location Profile:

PB Fasteners specializes in the manufacture of airframe structural nuts & bolts. PB Fasteners is best known for our developed Taper-Lok® and SLEEVbolt® fastening systems, which are used to enhance structural performance and manage electromagnetic effects in composite and multi-metal structure. PB Fasteners also manufactures fuse pins, screws, and nuts on a build-to-print basis in its 95,000 sq. ft. facility in Gardena, California.

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of an experienced NDT Tech, an NDT Tech performs basic NDT tasks such as staging work, moving product through the NDT process and miscellaneous support tasks. Level one NDT Tech will demonstrate the ability to interpret work orders and follow work instructions. This is an entry level position requiring no previous experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Conducts systems verification of both Magnetic and Penetrant inspections.
  • Controls work backlog.
  • Evaluates parts and makes decisions on indications.
  • Documents results according to standard procedures.
  • Reviews certifications (outside production).
  • Assists Quality management during audits.
  • Conducts safety meetings.
  • Prepares technique sheets for Mt and PT.
  • Initiates NCRs when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Must be certified by a Level III in both magnetic particle and fluorescent penetrant
  • Must be able to lift products in containers weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a dark booth for long periods of time.
  • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
  • A basic knowledge of machine tools.
  • The ability to interpret written instruction on shop travelers.
  • Acceptable vision is required: near vision of J-1 @ 12” and 20/30 (corrected) for distance.
  • Normal color vision required.

Required Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience.

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21 to $32 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 96 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
