Position Summary:

Level Two: Working with minimal supervision, level two gauge lab tech calibrates and issues gauges as well as prepares gauge kits with the gauge planner. The tech will work closely with the gauge recall system, entering data and managing gauge calibration due dates. The tech will demonstrate basic blue print reading, basic shop math skills, and operate optical comparator, and surface profilometer as well as use other basic inspection tools.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Maintain control and maintenance procedures for the calibration of measuring and test equipment in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Maintain reference materials such as operator’s manuals.
  • Issue control numbers for all new gauges.
  • Calibrate and make adjustments to gauges.
  • Maintain electronic calibration records indicating intervals, methods, results and acceptance status.
  • Submit measuring and test equipment to independent laboratories for calibration.
  • Issue gauges to Manufacturing, Inspection, Metallurgical laboratories and suppliers.
  • Assure inactive gauges are tagged and bonded.
  • Assure proper handling and storage of gauges.
  • Perform gauge repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Maintain inspection stamp control system.
  • Help with dimensional inspection as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills:

    • The ability to read and write English to interpret related processing specifications.
    • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
    • A basic knowledge of inspection gauges.
    • Must be able to lift product in containers weighing up to 20 lbs.
    • Basic computer proficiency.

      Required Experience:

      • 1-2 years of experience.

       

      Level of Education:

      • GED or High School diploma required.
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.50 to $29.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 40 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
