Location Profile:

Located in North Hollywood, CA, Avibank Manufacturing, Inc., a PCC Company, a part of the Engineered Products Group, is among the world's leading manufacturers specializing in the design and production of sophisticated fasteners and multi-component fastening systems and devices, solving difficult engineering and critical performance problems.

Position Summary:

Working with experienced professionals in the Quality Department the Quality Engineer Intern (QEI) will be responsible for supporting the Quality Department in the plan, coordination, and execution of quality control activities to assure delivery of conforming products that meet all company and customer Quality requirements.

This internship is on-site and can be part-time (20+hours/ week) or full-time, with the schedule determined based on availability and course load.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing SPC and in-process inspection forms for manufacturing operations
  • Develop/maintain nonconformance data for metric generation and analysis
  • Assist in root cause evaluations and implementation of corrective actions
  • Perform reviews of fixturing, dimensional conformance, and documentation of in-process jobs
  • Assist in various continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility
  • Support MRB activities as directed
  • Creates presentations to report out on current projects to Leadership team
  • Performs other duties as required

    Mathematical Skills:                                                

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as basic algebra. 
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Computer Skills:                                                      

    • Microsoft Office Suite – Particularly Microsoft Excel
    • Desired experience with pivot tables, VBA, or other coding language

    Additional Skills:

    • Familiarity with common inspection tools and their capabilities.
    • Familiarity with reading blueprints and GD&T basics.
    • Technical writing experience (e.g., Work Instructions, Process Procedures, etc.)

    Required Education & Experience:

    • Current Junior or Senior in College graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree with a focus on Quality/ Lean Manufacturing.

    For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $31.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0  hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
