Under minimal supervision, level two NDT tech is able to setup and execute full NDT inspection processes, which includes equipment checks and basic maintenance and performing full NDT inspection tasks. Level two NDT Tech will be certified internally and externally, and will demonstrate the ability to identify non-conforming product and begin the NCR process (Non-Conforming Report). NDT techs will work to complete NAS410 hour requirements per proces. 1-5 YOE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform all types of magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultra­sonic, eddy current and acid etch non-destructive tests on a wide variety of materials and products. Develop inspection techniques, fixtures and tools. Setup, calibrate and operate all types of non-destructive testing equipment. Visually inspect for discontinuities and evaluate in accordance with applicable acceptance standards. Submit samples to Metallurgy Lab for sectioning of questionable parts or material. Separate and identify rejected parts in accordance with QC procedures and customer requirements. Refer questionable parts to supervisor. Maintain accurate records of test results. Arrange work load to meet productions schedules. Instruct others as required. Accomplish and maintain Nondestructive Testing Level II certification in not less than 2 NDT methods per SNT.TC.1A, Mil Std 410, Mil Std 271 and PWA NDTQ.
High school diploma or equivalent required.  AS in technology related field or NDT certification preferred.
The incumbent must have the ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Must have demonstrated proficiencies in skills and essential functions required for a Nondestructive Tester B position and presently operate or have ability to operate listed machines and equipment with routine training and follow written and verbal instructions.
